ILM Level 2 Award for Team Leaders A Blended Approach
Learning objectives
The level 2 Award in team leading aims to give practicing or potential team leaders the foundation for their formal development in this role. The qualification does this by developing basic team leading skills through understanding their roles and responsibilities, exploring differing leadership styles, team work, feedback and communication skills.
Who should attend?
The participants of an ILM level 2 award in Team Leading will normally be practicing or aspiring Team Leaders. There are no formal entry requirements, but participants will: · Have a background that will enable them to benefit from the programme · Preferably have Level 1 Key Skills Literacy and Numeracy or equivalent
The course will enable delegates to gain an understanding in:
· The roles, functions and responsibilities of the team leader · Limits of authority · How to accept and respond positively to personal feedback · The difference between leadership and management · A range of leadership styles and when to implement them · Team structures |

Course Overview
Duration
3 face-to-face instructor lead days plus 4 hours background reading.
Structure
1 hour Induction 2 hours tutorial guidance 2 units · Developing yourself as a team leader · Leading your work team Background reading Assessment Total 24 hours
Assessment
Developing yourself as a team leader: Reflective review 300 – 500 words.
Leading your work team: Short answer question sheet. 50% pass mark is required for each unit.
